Initiating, evaluating, developing, implementing, documenting, supervising and revising plans of care for patients requiring occupational therapy
Coordinating patient care with other staff members and physicians
Documenting patient assessment, needs and care
Assisting with coordinating and teaching rehabilitative care programs to meet the needs of staff, patients, caregivers and the community
Supervising Occupational Therapy Assistants
Home care is both challenging and rewarding! This job requires a person who can work independently, while never forgetting that home care is a team effort.
Other Requirements Include
Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program or completion of the American Occupational Therapist Association career mobility program
Successful completion of a minimum of six months of Level II field work experience
Successful completion of the American Occupational Therapist Association Certification Examination for Occupational Therapy Registered
One year of clinical experience
Current American Occupational Therapist Association Certification Licensure by the State of Alabama
Knowledge of geriatric problems
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
Respecting the patient’s privacy and maintaining confidentiality
Ability to turn, lift, carry and otherwise transport patients
Current Alabama driver’s license and automobile liability insurance
